“A fascination with heights” – that’s what we live for! And of course we like to share our passion with you in our SKYLOTEC blog. A range of authors produce their own reports, with exciting stories about the special appeal of heights and the challenges they present.

Our colleagues who contribute to this blog for you come from various parts of the company. They work, for example, in product development, sales, marketing and at our Vertical Rescue College. And of course we also have authors who report back on their extraordinary experiences in all areas of sport climbing.

Here we would to introduce you to a few of the authors who regularly write in our blog and would like to start a dialogue with you:

Martin Hanke

I’m passionate about rock climbing and bouldering. For me, my sports and travelling are inseparable. So it makes perfect sense that I look after our athletics team and partners for SKYLOTEC and GENTIC. As a team, we are often out in the mountains or at indoor climbing centres and there’s always something interesting to report.

Christoph Kühnel

Whether in the trees or on buildings, rope access is my area of expertise. I’m often out at forest high ropes courses. As part of the sales team, I get a lot of new ideas and implement them together with my colleagues. It’s a really varied job! After all, I work with people who enjoy working at heights and are mostly also enthusiastic climbers in their spare time. Just like me. My hobbies are bouldering and kite-surfing.

Myriam Probst

Trends, standards, new designs – these are what I deal with on a day-to-day basis. That’s because my work as Product Development Manager is all about our current and future product ranges. Inspiration from practical experience is important for me and my team and so it’s not unusual for me to be away on business. As a counter-balance to the mountains and heights, I prefer to spend my free time kite-surfing at the seaside.

Christoph Gutmann

As Sales Director for Germany and the Netherlands, I spend more time at my desk than my colleagues. But I get just as much fun out of putting on a safety harness and using our equipment on site. This means I am in the best position to advise and support our customers and report to you from first-hand experience.

Thomas Förster

I feel really at home in the great outdoors. So in my spare time, I like to go out hiking, trekking and bushcrafting.  Fire-fighting is also something I focus on and that’s what my job at SKYLOTEC is all about. As a Work Safety Expert and Master Instructor at our Vertical Rescue College, I advise a lot of people on the risks of falling and rescuing injured people.
